Write Your Life Stories: Memoir Writing for Boomers

Date & Time: Saturday August 18th 9-11:30 am

Fee: $25.00

Program Description: Boomers are the largest and most influential population in the history of the world, first defined by the 1960’s and soon to be defined by entering our 60’s. That’s six decades of raw material for your memoir! This workshop will demystify the memoir, and show you how to get started, overcome obstacles and keep going. You'll learn:

  • Why you’re not too young (or too old) to start now
  • How to turn life story writing into a tool for visualizing the future.
  • How to turn “free time” into “writing time” whether you have only a few minutes or all day.
  • How not to get lost in the social clichés and icons of the sixties.
  • To improve your dance with uncomfortable memories.
  • How to start organizing scenes, sequences, and storylines.

“I highly recommend memoir programs to everyone –fiction and nonfiction writers…even poets. As writers we all need to look inward to our own experiences in order to make what we write as rich and real as possible.” - Jonathan Maberry, Award-winning author and Founding Partner of the Writers Corner USA.

Unblocking Creativity: Breaking Through the Myth of Writers Block

Icon

Date & Time: Thursdays, August 16, 23, and 30; 7-9pm

Fee: $85.00

Program Description: How often have you wished for a magic wand that would ignite inspiration or motivation? When asked, most people say they wish that they were more creative.  Nearly everyone "has a book" (screenplay, novel, poem) just waiting to get out.   And yet, so many of those books remain trapped in the mind.

The real secret is that we all have the power to create our own inspiration and motivation.  We all posses that magic that we dream about.  This course will support participants in discovering just how they can embrace their creativity and get unstuck. How would you feel if you actually were able to get that project started?

Built on the foundation of accountability, this course shatters the myths of writers block and eliminates the excuses that keep us stuck.   This course will change patterns and open the floodgates of creativity.  Participants will gain a new perspective on their writing habits and their view of their own creativity.   Results are guaranteed.

Instructor: Rhian White is a Certified Life Coach who lives and practices in the Philadelphia region.  She has worked with several prominent coaches in the industry including Emmy Award Winner Rhonda Britten and received her training directly from Rhonda Britten at the Fearless Living Institute in Denver Colorado.  Rhian has been practicing since July of 2005 and in that time has coached dozens of clients both within the United States and Internationally.   She now makes her living as a coach and public speaker and is affectionately known by many of her clients as the Law of Attraction Coach.  Rhian is currently working on her first nonfiction book.
